Counters

Each week, one of our counter teams works to account for the various contributions that are made to the church throughout the week. Checks that are delivered to the church through the week and mainly the offerings collected during each of the three services on Sundays are delivered to the office and are then processed by the team.

Following specific guidelines designed by the Finance Committee, the teams separate the various contributions, document the designated purposes for each contribution, and prepare these for posting to the individual member’s accounts for ultimate statement preparation.

Counting teams work a regular rotating weekly schedule and usually serve once a month. Counting is not a difficult role, but its importance can not be understated. The church deals directly with our bank and accuracy is demanded. As each member’s individual statement needs to reflect our gracious thanks back to the individual or family, that accuracy is once again a call to order.

If you like meaningful work but really do not want to be out front and in a crowd, please give your consideration to this most important stewardship. You would become a member of an active team for training and indoctrination and begin work in a rotation that would bring great value to the church – and all for less than a couple of hours a month. Come join us, behind the scenes!

The current counter schedule is HERE.
