Summer Chrismons

It’s June! Summer vacation begins, and thoughts naturally turn to...Advent! No? Well, they could. This summer, the Worship Design Committee will be having a Chrismon-making project in order to give FMUMC worshipers the opportunity to make Chrismon ornaments for the tree in the sanctuary during Advent.

If you are unfamiliar with the term “Chrismon,” it is a symbol that represents the name of Jesus Christ. The fish made of two arcs is one familiar example. Each year at Advent, the tree in our sanctuary is decorated with white-and-gold ornaments showing a variety of these symbols. Watch for more information about making Chrismons in the church bulletins during the early summer!
