Witness and Evangelism

Posted Sunday, April 27, 2008

“Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.” [Acts 20:28, NIV]

When we show love to our brothers and sisters in Christ, we are showing God to the world. His light shines through us. We are his hands and feet, and our acts provide a way for others to see Christ on earth.

Our mission centers on spreading the good news of God’s presence in our worship family and in our lives. We are serving Him by being caring servants to one another in our church family, our community, and through outreach missions.

Our vision encompasses nurturing those who are looking for a loving church family by encouraging them to worship with us on a regular basis. We do this by being friendly and loving to one another and to our new worshippers.

Our PIE (People in Evangelism) visits quickly show our happiness that new worshippers have joined us for the first time. We deliver a home-made dessert to show them that we are a caring, loving worship family. We want them to feel our sincerity as we invite them “to come back as soon as they can.”

Our PIC (Plug into Christ) visits provide continued information about our programs to those who return for worship. We offer encouragement and answers as we strive to connect or rekindle Christ’s people with like believers.

Our goal is to shepherd anyone whom God sends to worship with us. We open our doors and hearts through our website, church newsletter, and area newspapers. As overseers of our church family and our community, we want everyone to know that a loving church family worships at Flower Mound United Methodist Church.
