Lectio Divina, a method of Bible study that has been around for many centuries, is a practice that allows persons of faith to encounter God’s Word in scripture and open themselves to the rich meanings of Biblical texts in their lives. More specifically, it is a method that helps persons focus attention on the scripture and learn to become silent before God. Ultimately, the believer makes him– or herself available to the Lord for a deeper relationship and clearer understanding of being blessed in order to bless others.
On four consecutive Monday mornings, June 16-July 7, a Lectio Divina study will be held from 10-11:30 in room C12. If you are interested in taking part in this study, bring your Bible and come join the first class on June 16. If you have questions, call Jackie Lamb at 972-317-3664 or e-mail her at rjlamb2@verizon.net. Child care will be available by reservation. Please e-mail Kellie Sanford by June 12 at ksanford@fmumc.net to make arrangements.
