We are thrilled that you are considering becoming a member of our Flower Mound United Methodist Church (FMUMC)! Each member of our church family is important because each comes with unique gifts and talents that benefit our whole church. Our pastors, John Johnson and Carol Sparks, would love to share a cup of coffee and a conversation with you so we can learn more about you, answer any questions you may have about our church, and help you join the church if you're ready.
When you join FMUMC, you're becoming a part of a much larger body of Christ - the global United Methodist Church. We are, as United Methodists, open to all people - regardless of race, color, national origin, or economic status.
There are three methods to join FMUMC:
- Profession of faith through baptism and/or confirmation
- Transfer of membership from another United Methodist Church
- Transfer of membership from another denomination whose baptism the United Methodist Church accepts.
There are three types of membership:
- Professing Member: One who receives, or has received, baptism and professes his/her faith before the congregation.
- Affiliate Member: One who is a member of another United Methodist Church but is residing away from his/her home church and wishes to be associated with a local church temporarily.
- Associate Member: One in the same situation stated above but who is of another denomination. In both of these situations, the individual is still counted as a member in his/her home church. These members can participate and hold office.
